Road to Guantanamo

For this assignment we were given a view movies to choose from. I chose for the movie “Road to Guantanamo” by Michael Winterbottom and Mat Whitecross. The story in short is about a trio of British Muslims who were held in Guantanamo Bay for two years until they were released without charge.

The movie itself is build up in two main parts: fictional (screenplay) and documentary (reflection). I had to extract different aspects of the movie: the first aspect is related to the story and what kind of point of view the story has in relation to the viewer and the actors. The second aspect is how the camera is being used within the movie, extracting different aspect like: POV, angle, height, pan etc. The third aspect was time, how does time relate to the screenplay versus the documentary style of filming? What is the tempo? What is the buildup etc. The last aspect was sound.

Here are some photos of how I visualized these aspects.
